Winemaking notes
This Amber rum is distilled and aged in oak barrels in Guyana for 5 years. It's a blend of light and smooth base rum with a full bodied pot still rum. The Demerara process begins with fermentation. The basic ingredient of Demerara is dark Caribbean molasses. The first step is to mix the molasses with yeast. Fermentation takes about one day. Next, the fermented mixture is run through the still.
Viticultural notes
A tropical paradise, known for waterfalls, jaguars and beaches. It’s also the home of Demerara county which is known for rum. With a tradition of quality over 300 years old, Demerara Rum is rich, dark and flavorful, suitable for mixing or enjoying straight.
Tasting notes
Smooth and sweet with prominent notes of vanilla, caramelized brown sugar and subtle baking spices.
Pairing notes
Aged rum benefits from a but of water or one or two ice cubes to really develop its best flavor. Try it in a Rum Old Fashioned or in a classic Rum and Coke.
