Winemaking notes
First introduced to great acclaim in 2014, Michter's Toasted Barrel Bourbon is a groundbreaking whiskey expression. To make it we take our Kentucky Straight Bourbon and then age it for an additional period in a second barrel. This second barrel is assembled from 18-month air dried wood and then toasted to our specifications. The truly unique and delicious taste of Toasted Barrel Bourbon is remarkable in that nothing was added to the whisky.
Viticultural notes
Michter's has three locations in Kentucky - a 78,000 square foot distillery in the Shively section of Louisville, the architecturally significant Fort Nelson Building on Louisville's Museum Row and 145 acres of farm land in Springfield.
Tasting notes
Campfire and cinnamon aromas, with pecans and dried fruit. Lingering finish of baked pears, vanilla and marshmallow.
