Winemaking notes
World famous Black Label range was created to give you what you want to drink, featuring great Australian fruit, wonderful flavours and an easy drinking style.
Viticultural notes
To craft McGuigan Black Label Cabernet Merlot, selected grapes are sourced from both dry and irrigated vineyards in South Eastern Australia. The fruits are harvested during a cool night to lock in the flavours of the high quality varietals. At a controlled temperature range of 20-22 degrees Celsius, the juice is fermented for a week. The wine is allowed to mature in stainless steel containers together with oak before blending the two varietals.
Tasting notes
McGuigan Black Label Cabernet Merlot displays an attractive deep crimson colour with tinges of bright red. The wine’s bouquet is highlighted by ripe dark berries and sweet raspberries. Subtle hints of vanillin and cinnamon refine the complex set of aromas. The mouth-watering palate is an outstanding fusion of soft and velvety Merlot characters with a more intense and solid Cabernet Sauvignon. Rich flavours of sweet raspberries, succulent blackcurrants, black cherries and juicy plums constitute the body of the palate. Surprising notes of caramel, vanilla and light oak can also be experienced moving towards an exquisite finale.
Pairing notes
Food: It is the perfect accompaniment to succulent lamb, beef or chicken dishes.
