San Giogio Ugolforte Brunello Di Montalcino 2018

This inaugural vintage of Ugolforte Riserva is the fruit of a growing year that, while challenging as far as its weather goes, was extremely intriguing from the winemaking point of view. Ugolforte Riserva definitely begins in the vineyard, since over the years we have been able to identify those individual parcels that best represent the style of San Giorgio. That particular expressiveness was confirmed during the wine’s maturation in oak. The wines of the 2018 vintage will be remembered as elegant and approachable, crisp and linear.

Ugolforte Riserva 2018 adds to those qualities a pronounced and intense aromantic impact, thanks to superbly ripe, forward fruit and lengthy macerations, which gifted notes of dark-fleshed fruit and smooth spice. The acidity, immediately felt upon entry, is easily capable of supporting an imposing structure, accompanied by emphatic, dense tannins. A lengthy, magisterially- balanced finish leaves the mouth satisfied but fresh, a characteristic of the 2018 vintage.
