Winemaking notes
Temperature-controlled fermentation followed by a long maceration of approximately 18 days on the skins to extract colour, structure and complexity. Aged for 24 months in oak barriques and large casks, followed by a minimum of 4 months of bottle rest before release in full compliance with the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG regulations.
Viticultural notes
From Montalcino vineyards at 350 to 450 metres above sea level on predominantly clay and limestone soils. The 2020 vintage — described as "captivating, bright and succulent" by the Consorzio del Brunello stands out for its freshness, generous fruit and refined tannins. An outstanding vintage that beautifully combines maturity and natural freshness, widely regarded as one of the finest of the decade in Montalcino.
Tasting notes
Ruby red with garnet highlights. The nose is tightly coiled and expressive: mint, cedar and camphor complement notes of dried black cherries. On the palate, the wine is silken and round, with vividly ripe red and blue fruits that drench the senses in primary concentration. The palate is harmonious and enveloping, with noble tannins and beautiful persistence. A Brunello of both power and elegance, with exceptional ageing potential.
Pairing notes
Serve at 18 °C after decanting for a minimum of one hour. Outstanding with grilled or braised red meats, game, pasta al ragù, traditional Tuscan cuisine, aged cheeses and dishes featuring porcini mushrooms or truffles.
