Winemaking notes
Crafted on Islay, Ardbeg Y2K was distilled at the turn of the millennium using heavily peated barley. Matured in ex-bourbon and select oak casks, it captures a moment in time—combining Ardbeg’s raw intensity with evolving complexity shaped by years of aging.
Viticultural notes
Though not a wine, its character reflects its terroir. Produced on Islay, it is shaped by coastal elements and peat-rich soils. The local peat, used during barley drying, gives the whisky its signature smoky depth and earthy character.
Tasting notes
The nose reveals deep smoke, citrus zest, and hints of vanilla and spice. On the palate, it is rich and layered, with notes of peat, caramel, toasted oak, and dark fruits. The finish is long, smooth, and smoky, with a refined, slightly sweet edge.
Pairing notes
Best enjoyed neat to fully appreciate its balance and maturity. A few drops of water can enhance its aromatic complexity. Serve at room temperature in a whisky glass, allowing it to open gradually.
