Winemaking notes
Born on Islay, Ardbeg Corryvreckan is crafted from heavily peated malted barley. It is matured primarily in new French oak casks, giving it power and structure. Inspired by the famous nearby whirlpool, it expresses a bold, untamed and deeply complex Ardbeg style.
Viticultural notes
Though not a wine, its identity is rooted in terroir. Produced on Islay, it reflects the island’s rugged landscape and maritime climate. Local peat, used to dry the barley, gives the whisky its signature smoky intensity and deep connection to place.
Tasting notes
The nose is intense, with powerful smoke, dark fruits and spice. On the palate, expect notes of black pepper, dark chocolate, black cherry and espresso. The texture is rich and energetic, leading to a long, swirling finish marked by peat and a subtle salty edge.
Pairing notes
Best enjoyed neat to fully experience its intensity. A few drops of water can open up the aromas and soften the boldness. Serve at room temperature in a proper whisky glass, and take your time to explore its evolving layers.
